Hello and welcome to claire-marie-millinery.

Millinery - it starts with an idea. A selection of high quality materials, felt, sinamay straw or other fine fabrics, carefully chosen to complete the finished piece.

Next comes the shaping, where blocks, molds, steam and stiffeners are used to form the desired silhouette, each 

curve and contour meticulously crafted by hand.

Then comes the stitching, trimmings, embellishments, adding layers of detail that bring the idea to life.

Intricate beading, edgings, delicate lacework, feathers and flowers can all be used and are carefully considered and applied to create a piece that is both visually stunning and structurally sound.

Finally, the finishing touches are added, from the placement of my signature label, to the steaming and shaping of the final piece, ensuring that every piece I design and create is a true, bespoke masterpiece.
